In 1974 David Denton started Flinders Cook Limited as a single practitioner in Wellington. Naming it after the explorers of New Zealand - James Cook - and Australia - Matthew Flinders. With a sense of their history he moulded the company, Flinders Cook Limited, into a major loss adjusting house.
By striving for the highest standards of service, integrity, education and training, the company grew. Flinders Cook Limited merged with other marine surveying, loss adjusting and investigation companies to provide depth and breadth of coverage that it has today.
